Trick or Treat: 3 Easy Halloween Delights
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. Now, I know, I know, almost everyone in the northern hemisphere of the world has been saying it lately . . . but it really is.
There are just so many things to be excited about: The cooler weather (and the start of the "rainy" season in California), Halloween, the candle scents and most importantly: the desserts!
My mom is a big baker and my love of baking can be directly attributed to her. There's even a small section of countertop in my parent's kitchen that is reserved specifically for her sweets.
Whenever October came around, there would be a ton of delicious fall treats - from apple pie, to pumpkin bars, to chocolate zucchini cakes and caramel walnut brownies. Ghost and bat-shaped sugar cookies were a staple, too. Yep - YUM!
So in celebration of tasty fall treats, I hit the boards of Pinterest to find a few Halloween and fall recipes I'd love to try out. Check out some of my picks below!
Puppy Chow was a pretty big deal in my town growing up (particularly for me because I am a radical chocolate and peanut butter lover). This simple treat is great for a Halloween-themed party pleaser.
One of the season's biggest flavors is, of course, pumpkin. In my mind, anything pumpkin, (and anything cheesecake for that matter) can do no wrong. That cute ghostly dollup of whipped cream and chocolate chip eyes really tops it off, too.
These are one of my all-time favorite bars. They have everything (as the name suggests): chocolate, caramel, coconut, butterscotch; I mean, c'mon. This recipe is very similar to my mom's, too, so I trust they're similarly delicious.See more of what's hidden in our Halloween Pinterest board here!
